Any word on what her blatant ignorance of the rules is costing us Taxpayers? Have the selectman removed her yet? Cant be hard to remove a appointed alternate she does not hold any elected positions.

We seem to have a new way for board members to carry out personal agendas, lie, and do very underhanded things. It started with Kim Gordon and the whole asphalt plant and what she did against her own board. she got away with it with only a letter of reprimand and set a example for other board members to go buy. Then Julia ferrari learns from this and turns around and cost us 4,000$ in legal fees and then gets caught telling the select board many lies about the whole mess and her reprimand was...to be made a full HDC member! so Jen Bellan sees all this happen and thinks wow I can do what I want I don't need to follow rules and its all OK! Hell maybe my punishment will be that I will become a full Planning board member.

Does anyone else besides me see this pattern and where its going?

I cannot believe this type of behavior from Jen Bellan, Why have the selectmen not taken steps to remove her from being an alternate on the planning board, she does not hold an elected position and I believe it is well within their right to do so, When her actions prompts a letter of concern from a group of lawyers representing the town it is time for her to go. In this time of fiscal worries for most tax payers in small towns why is she still being allowed to show total disregard for the rules governing a code of conduct and allowed to waste hard earned tax payer’s money, she needs to be removed from all of the organizations that she serves on in the two towns.

Whats this talk about the Library being closed? Anything to do with Bellan or Gordon or is it both or something else?
Seems odd, everything these 2 involve themselves with become a problem.

Yes if you read the select board minutes this has been discussed a couple times over the last few weeks. I'm sure its less about the actual Library and more about 3-4 trustees that are ruining it. And yes its all tied to the mess our planning board is in and our HDC.
If you care about the village library then 1 way to save it is to demand the trustees resign, we still have time to build a new board and reverse the damage they have caused. Duplicating services that Conant already covers and trying to force the town/taxpayer to fund their bad decisions have put the village library in danger.
Act now before its to late demand the resignation of the 4 real problems.

Ive heard about some of this Library closing talk but haven't seen to much info on it. This blog usually does a good job at giving us the entire story with facts that can be looked up to validate. Can you or are you going to give us all the documents on this subject?

Yes, we are working on this new story, Information is coming in slowly and we usually don't like to start a subject without documents, meeting minutes etc. We have found enough info to agree with and post the comments that have come in.
A full topic will be posted soon.
Unfortunately without a doubt there are too many wrongs to be righted in Winchester and all the news and information that needs to be out there for our voters to be aware of would keep a small newspaper busy.
Unlike some of the people being discussed here, we all work and have family's and other commitments.
dividing our time up for all of this is difficult. As important as it is to educate our voters so they can make the change we need when they enter the voting booth, it is only a small part of our lives.
Remember this town at the end of the day is run by its citizens and voters, it is up to you to arm yourself with the correct information ask questions and get involved.
This may sting a little, but most of our problems can be traced directly back to the voters.
The lack of voter turn out and voters not being aware of the facts or the people they have voted for is at the route of most our problems. If we can help change this fact then a new day will begin for our community.

OMG, have you ever had that thought that hits you beside the head like a hammer?
I did, I have been trying to figure out why Kim Gordon would use her position on the Planning board to protect Plifkas interest at the expense of our town and its taxpayers and then it hit me, Who thinks she will make a bid for select board this March and call in some favors from Plifka asking for his support and political pull?
Now it all may make sense.
Just a guess for now but it will be interesting to see what Feb and March bring us

Anonymous on December 13, 2012 9:47AM I think you could be onto something.
Ive had the same thought with why would the Thayer Library trustees work so hard at getting the library shut down? Could it be by causing all the trouble they have and forcing the selectboard to take notice and think about closing it could be a plan to make the selectboard look bad and then use it against them? I would hope that if this is true our select board would see this set up coming and not fall for it.
Sacrificing our Village library is not below some of these trustees, just look at the steps they have taken to ruin other boards they are involved in.

Any word about the select board ridding the planning board of this character yet?
If you can appoint her I'm sure you can UN-appoint her.
Would love to see the legal bill she has created us tax payers get sent to her to cover, Why should we pay for it?
I loved the comment about Kim running for select board, wouldn't that be a hoot. It would give more people the opportunity to learn just how damaging she has been to every board she has been on already
